Begin your wonderful journey to Katra by boarding the Volvo from the designated pick-up point in Delhi (guests are requested to report at the scheduled time). The overnight journey will be by Volvo. Katra, also known as Katra Vaishno Devi, is a small town in the Reasi district of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is situated in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, where the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi is located.
Upon arrival in Katra, our team will warmly greet you and transfer you to the hotel (check-in time will be as per the hotel's policy, and early check-in will be subject to availability and an additional cost). After freshening up, take some time to rest, and in the evening, explore the local market at your own leisure. Return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Early in the morning, proceed towards Banganga to begin the trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan, one of India's most popular pilgrimages. Situated in the lap of the Trikuta Mountains, across Katra town, at an altitude of approximately 5200 feet, this temple is located about 12 km away from Katra. To reach the temple, one can either travel by foot or hire a pony from Katra. It is believed that those who undertake the Himalayan trail to her abode seldom return disappointed, as the temple grants boons to its devotees. The Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine is nestled in a cave at the summit of the Trikuta Mountains in Jammu and Kashmir. Inside the temple, there are three pindies representing Mata Mahakali, Mata Mahalakshmi, and Mata Mahasaraswati, making it the only place where these three deities are naturally found together. The pilgrimage follows the path Mata Vaishno Devi took while fleeing from Bhairon. After visiting the shrine, return to Katra, check into the hotel, freshen up, and spend the rest of the day engaged in personal activities. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Katra.
After breakfast in the morning, check out from the hotel. The day is free for leisure activities. In the evening, catch the Volvo for your onward journey, cherishing the memorable moments you've experienced.
